Artist bio: Based in the Highlands of Scotland, Jane is interested in a variety of subjects. Having spent many years doing portraits of people and animals, she is now focussing most of her attention on the landscape and seascape. Most of her work includes water, its ability to distort, and capture motion and light provide her with endless inspiration. Her style depends on what she sees, and how she feels about it at the time. She might use oil, acrylic or pastels, it depends on the subject and, often the weather. She loves experimenting with mark making, and uses a variety of tools alongside the traditional brush. Jane is mainly self taught, but has studied art to HND level at Inverness and attended numerous classes and courses. She is now based at WASPS Creative Academy in Inverness, enabling her to focus more energy on painting with the added benefit of being in a creative environment.
